Hi everyone! For our guide to fashion trends this summer, I asked Inna Serafin to blog about it.
Inna is a churchmate and a friend. I've seen her grow from a high school student to a young professional. She's one of the younglings who is trendy, no wonder she ended up in the fashion industry! She's only 21 yet has quite a broad knowledge when it comes to fashion. Now, she's working at Robinsons Specialty Stores Incorporated as a brand specialist.
Without further ado, here's her blog! I'm sure you'll learn from her as much as I did.

Aaaannndd… I’m back!
Not that I was ever completely offline at all, but it has been years since I’ve blogged! To be honest, I’ve missed this! I remember blogging about movies, new restaurants, food and even the ever-popular everyday sentiments. Oh, those were the days!
This post, however, isn’t about me going back to old loves. It’s me introducing you to an old love never before discussed so publicly by me. Today, I’ll be talking to you about fashion, specifically, the trends and colors of Spring/Summer 2015!
In the past year I’ve spent going through the ins and outs of the fashion retail industry, I’ve had an inside look at how difficult it’s become to keep up with the trends. I understand now, more than ever, just how fast-paced, diverse yet personalized fashion is. I know many of us spend minutes – even hours, maybe – staring at our closets, figuring out what to wear on a daily basis. Worry no more! I’m here to make your #ootd choices as easy, breezy as summer should be.
For Spring/Summer 2015, henceforth to be known as SS15, it's time to throw out those pink floral tops, neon colored prints and welcome the classy look this summer!
So to start, there are LOTS of trends that the industry has launched this SS15. Some of these trends include the leafy/tropical prints, black and white monochrome stripes (weird for Summer don’t you think?), the botanical/aztec prints and lastly, the pastel hues.

But to discuss all the trends will take me moooooore than just one blog post! So therefore, I only picked two trends that anyone with any skin or style can easily flaunt!
PALM PRINTS
For this year, the fashion industry went for a subtle tone and hue in this year’s collection. Working hand in hand with retailers abroad, we decided that many of the themes originally presented by the industry were too edgy or intimidating for the everyday Filipina. So we picked out the colors and prints we knew Filipinos would learn to love over time.
We also tried to incorporate different prints this summer, apart from the growingly plain floral patterns. Prints, you must know, are a key statement to a fashion ensemble, what better prints to introduce than the tropical prints!

Den Yap is a fashion enthusiast. She defines herself as a woman who “exudes all femininity and charm.” Kidding aside, she's a good friend of mine who also loves to dress up as much as I do.
For this year Green is the primary theme and color of summer. For casual day outs, we balanced the print with a plain top and added gold accessories to complete the look!
What Den's wearing: A leafy midi skirt (Php 350 from Greenhills) and a Green tank top (Php 100 from Bangkok, Thailand). See how the Green hues compliment each other? It adds a different summery vibe unlike how the usual floral prints we usually have. And you don’t need to spend so much! :)
Den and I agreed that for SS15, the Midi and Maxi skirts are worn best during the season.
What I’m wearing: Blue tropical print skirt (Php 350 from Greenhills) with a white crossbody top (Php 200 from Bangkok, Thailand). Yes, tropical prints can go with different colors as well!
On the other side, maxi dresses are essential to this year's summer - and the best thing about maxis? It never goes out of style!
Meet another friend of mine, Camille Vinas, who is also a lover of clothes. As a curvy woman, Camille's everyday look has always been a challenge to her. However, with correct pieces to incorporate and commend the body shape, picking out clothes for your body type won't even take a sweat!

For curvy women, always go for high waisted bottoms to emphasize the curves. It doesn't just make you look tall, it also makes you look fit.
Always balance your top and bottom. If you'll go for a fit top, balanced it out with a lose bottom or vice versa. Don't go fit on fit because, well... we know how that looks. Same also goes with lose on lose because it will only make you look bigger. Try to balance it out. Don't hide your curves, woman! Flaunt them!

GO WITH PASTEL
Another great trend you’re going to love are pastel colors! With all the summer heat and sweat, it’s going to be pretty easy to lose your poise. Look fresh under the sun with pastel colors that compliment your style. The best thing about pastel pieces? They’re easily worn by anyone and they make you look oh-so fresh and light at the same time!

Pastel pieces are great this season because they give you that fresh and cool look despite the summer hassle. Because of their soothing and pleasant tone, lime green and custard yellow have become the colors to look for. These shades of green and yellow also charmingly complement other shades such as aquamarine and navy blue.
For the love of fashion and comfort, avoid dark and striking colors. Believe me when I say that pastel colors and light tones are your closet’s best friends for this season.
See how the color blends in well lightly? And the prints are balanced out as well! :)
Pair this perfect yellow tone with classic blue pieces to make a real fashion statement!
For the Men, don't fret! I've got tips for you, too!
Your best color for this summer is Navy Blue with a touch of red and nautical prints. Hence, the monochrome stripes. It’s amazing how good these colors look on almost every kind of guy. Whether you’re tall, dark and handsome or cute on the short-side, these shades will work wonders for you.
For men, don't settle for that dull shirt and jeans combo. Try to compliment your look by adding a belt and watch on different days. Don't just stick to your comfort zone. Experiment on what look suits you.
So there you have it! The best of Spring/Summer 2015 at the click of a link. Hope you enjoyed reading about this season’s trends as much as I enjoyed writing this. Oh!
